How to play
Two-player mode lets you and a friend take turns on the same device; single-player mode has you play as X against the computer as O.
Tap or click any empty square to place your mark there. Turns alternate automatically.
The game checks after every move for three matching marks in a row, column, or diagonal, and for a full board with no winner (a draw).
In single-player mode, the Easy difficulty picks a random open square; Hard difficulty blocks your winning moves and takes its own winning moves when available.
Tips
- Taking the center square first gives you the most possible winning lines to work with.
- Watch for a “fork” — a move that creates two different ways to win at once, which your opponent can only block one of.
- Played perfectly by both sides, Tic-Tac-Toe always ends in a draw — so on Hard difficulty, a draw is a solid result.
