How to play

Add one participant per line.

The list is shuffled and split into pairs in order.

If there's an odd number of participants, one person is clearly marked as receiving a bye for that round, rather than being silently left out.

Press Shuffle Again for an entirely new random pairing.

Run it more than once across a series of sessions so the same two people aren't always paired together.
For groups larger than pairs, Random Group Generator lets you choose any group size instead of exactly two.
The person who receives a bye is chosen randomly each time you shuffle, not always the same position in the list.

What happens with an odd number of people?

One participant is clearly shown as having a bye for that round — they're never silently dropped from the result.

Can the same two people be paired twice in a row?

Yes, each shuffle is independent, so it's possible, though not guaranteed, to see a repeat pairing.

Can I use this for tournament brackets?

It creates a single round of random pairs; for a full bracket you'd re-run it each round with the remaining participants.
