Random Wheel

Add your own options, spin the wheel, and watch it land on a random pick. A more visual alternative to a plain text-based random choice.

How to play

Add options one at a time β€” each becomes its own colored segment on the wheel.

Press Spin the Wheel to start the spin. The wheel spins for several rotations before slowing down and stopping.

The stopping point is chosen randomly before the animation starts, so the spin is for visual effect β€” the result isn't influenced by how or when you click.

The segment under the pointer when the wheel stops is announced as the result, and can be copied or shared.

Tips

  • Keep the wheel to a reasonable number of options (under about 100) so each segment stays easy to read.
  • If your browser has reduced motion turned on, the wheel jumps straight to the result instead of animating β€” the fairness of the pick isn't affected either way.
  • For a name-drawing raffle with winners removed as you go, Wheel of Names is purpose-built for that instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is the spin actually random, or just for show?

The winning segment is chosen randomly before the wheel starts spinning β€” the animation shows you the result, it doesn't determine it.

Is there a limit to how many options I can add?

For a smooth, readable spin, keep it under about 100 entries.

Does it work without the animation?

Yes β€” with reduced motion enabled in your operating system, the result appears immediately without the spin.
